This is a blog that will track my financial health for one year, from July 2022 to July 2023.
Specifically, it will be a testimony to the power of our Lord Father God and Jesus Christ.
I will become a good steward of God's money, and so become a good and faithful servant.
Up to this point in my life, I have not been a good steward of God's money. Going forward, I will:
- track my income and expenses
- produce financial statements
- pay off debts
- pay taxes
- save money
- tithe as a cheerful giver
- stay current on child support
- produce, update, and stay on plan
I'm currently in debt pretty bad. I'm approximately 8k in credit card debt, 75k? owed to the IRS?, several years of unfiled taxes, non-tithing, zero ownership of real estate, I've been living in a hotel for 9 months, and was living in my truck for 1 year before that. I am $9,500 behind on child support and owe $1200 each month for child support. Haven't had health insurance in approximately 8 years. I possibly owe approximately $60k in medical debt, but, it's not showing up on my credit report, so maybe they have written that off.
I own two automobiles, and a crappy small crappy business. Between my personal and business bank accounts, I have approximately 11k cash on hand, plus approximately 4k in precious metals.
I have come to the conclusion that I have the financial knowledge and understanding of a worm. I have written computer programs that track the inventory of nuclear waste as well as facilitated critical communication between airline executives during an airline emergency. So, smart enough but obviously not. It's not a brain capability problem, it's something else. Therefore, after 49 years of trying to do it my way, and failing spectacularly, I finally have enough faith to tithe, to surrender control of this money to Him. I surrender my perceived ownership of this money to Father God, Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
